RITA SLEWA

Speech Pathologist

Rita graduated from the University of Macquarie with a Master of Speech and Language Pathology. Furthermore, Rita has a Bachelor degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences.

Rita’s special interests lies in developmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, speech and language disorders and Assistive and Augmentative Communication (AAC).

Rita is a firm believer in a client-focused family cantered approach by providing tailored evidence-based therapy to her clients. Rita believes that parents are the most significant catalyst in their child’s journey, thus, building the parent’s capacity is vital to best support their children.

Rita has experience working with typically developing children and children with different needs. She believes that communication is everyone’s right. She is passionate about providing a voice to her clients to express their needs, wants, thoughts, feelings and opinions to improve their choice and control and lead a successful life.

Rita has completed the following workshops and online training:

  • Hanen Certified in ‘More than Words’.
  • Social thinking ‘We Thinkers’ Volumes 1 & 2.
  • Colorful Semantics (literacy).
